The good old days

Bog Witch mix

For your listening (dis)pleasure, a bag of foul vibes in celebration of the neverending swampy summer. Hastily mixed without the intervention of modern technology (as you will no doubt be able to tell at certain points, mixmaster sausage fingers on the decks...). I'm going to do more of these over the next wee while, seems like a good way of sharing music without being too brazen about it.

Let's go Cottaging

Here's another blog that might tickle your fancy if you've found your way to this dank corner of the digital universe. Fearnlono over at The Cottage of Electric Hell makes custom edits of unreleased soundtracks for various Brit- horror classics. They're all classily done and do a great job of capturing some otherwise unavailable soundtrack classics. I highly recommend clicking ye link below and checking them out.

New wares...

So here it is, a new split release with Atlanta's finest purveyors of synth doom, Warning Light. You can grab the soulless digital versions for nothing on the bandcamp links below but why not get in touch with persistentmidnight@gmail.com for a tape copy and feed that dusty thing below the CD player some dinner. Should have some copies for euro-distibution soon.

More posts on their way folks, I've been afffffffy lazy with this thing so far...

Never blow a dead mans whistle...

A classic bit of spooky telly based on a short story by the British author M.R.James. Everything about this film subtly evokes an atmosphere of unease without ever resorting to the latter day techniques of jam and bangs. The dream sequences are particularly effective and feature some great other worldy sounds. I believe this was remade and fleshed out a bit in 2011 with John Hurt in the lead role, but i doubt that version can beat this one. Watch and forever be terrified of rambling/duvets.

Bin Laden-issamo

Great tune for hunting creeps to.

It's pronounced COE-ven...

It can't all be about me, right? American Movie is a personal favourite of mine but I didn't see the resulting Coven short until relatively recently. Whilst hardly a classic, it turns out it's actually a pretty diverting little movie in it's own right. Alcohol might help with this one folks...

Shameless self promotion part 1

So you'll be distinctly unsurprised to find that the first post on the all new Repeated Viewing blog is a blatant plug for my own wares. Oh the horror! Go on, grab 'A Doll's Head in the Hands of the Assassin', 'Frozen Existence' and 'Six Dead Orchids in an Eagles Talon's' they're all free! If you like what you hear, leave a comment or be forever doomed to shovel bum chutney in a chamber of stinky weasel gizzards (or something).
